Papercuts

Papaercutting is an art form that came into my life when I was still a student. One scalpel and a big piece of paper have transformed my art practice. It’s a very laborious process which requires patience, a steady hand, and a careful eye. All pieces have been designed and cut by hand, by me, using a scalpel and various stocks of paper. If you have any questions about the process, do get in touch. I am able to reproduce some designs, but often I like to keep the pieces as ‘one-offs’, not to be replicated. I also offer prints of some pieces, which can be viewed in my shop. My biggest piece to date, ‘Lost in Blue’, has been selected for the Royal Academy 2025 Summer Exhibition. My current favourite things to cut are ginkgo leaves, iris flowers and birds (especially cranes and herons).
